A few years ago, my friend had a fairly major surgery. This wasn’t an emergency situation so she was able to make a plan in advance for everything in her life around the surgery. She scheduled the time off of work, lined up friends to watch the pets, arranged for family to come to stay with and take care of her children, and even made and froze several weeks of make-ahead meals. She picked out the clothes she’d wear to the hospital and, on the way home from work one day, bought some fun socks to wear during her stay to cheer her up and keep her perpetually cold feet warm and comfy while she’d be in the hospital. She remembered her phone and tablet chargers. Her husband took time off of work to be with her during the surgery and for some of the recovery time afterward.
My friend is a huge planner and list maker, very efficient and always prepared. And do you know what she forgot to plan for? Hygiene! She forgot her basic toiletries! Somehow she forgot these simple, yet vital items for her hospital stay. She had to ask her husband to leave the hospital to find toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, a comb, soap, lotion, and deodorant for each of them. I learned a good lesson from her mistake and now I purchase travel kits for my friends whenever I know they’ll be staying in a hospital or a medical facility.
I soon got to put that newfound lesson into practice when I found out my sister was pregnant. I was so excited that I was going to be an aunt! I knew she planned on staying at the hospital during the birth, so as an additional baby shower gift, I purchased a Woman on the Go Fructis Premium Travel Kit for her. Her favorite shampoo and conditioner happen to be Garnier Fructis, so choosing a kit was easy. Plus, the additional products in the kit meant she didn’t have to worry about finding or packing convenient sized items like a toothbrush and Crest toothpaste, a razor and Pure Silk shaving cream, facial wipes and a Degree deodorant. The best part was that there were even other items in the kit that I wouldn’t have thought of - a two way folding mirror and a shower comb, a vanity kit that included cotton swabs and cotton balls, and a nail file! This lovely kit came in a beautiful and durable bag that kept everything together perfectly!
To make things easier for everyone, and because I wanted to do what I could to help, I also purchased a travel kit for my brother-in-law at the same time. I wanted him to be able to look, feel, and smell his best when his new baby arrived and when guests came to see the happy little family. For him, I chose the Man on the Go Premium Travel Kit. His masculine looking travel bag was filled with Pert Plus, Degree deodorant, Crest toothpaste and toothbrush, a comb, a palm brush, razor and Edge Shave gel, and what I found to be the most useful item; a tissue pack! We didn’t realize how many tears are shed when a baby arrives, but he certainly felt like the hero as he passed out soft tissues to his mother and mother-in-law when they met the new bundle of joy!
Convenience Kits International certainly knows how to make hospital stays less stressful with their attractive travel and toiletry kits. With both pre-assembled and customizable kits, you can easily find the perfect bag to purchase for yourself or as a fabulous and thoughtful gift that keeps on giving for a friend or loved one!
